Great Anderson County Fair Opens Tomorrow

The Great Anderson County Fair opens its gates tomorrow by giving back to the community. At 4 p.m., fair owner Jimmy Drew will present checks to five local charitable organizations as part of the fair’s commitment to community involvement.

 

Drew, who was born to working at the fair in the 1940s, said it Is important to give back to the community and praised the leadership in Anderson for supporting the fair.

 

“The county leaders and county administrator in Anderson are the greatest I have ever worked with,” said Drew. “I’ve worked with a lot of people and these people are the best. It’s special.”

 

The fair runs through May 14 at the Anderson Civic Center. Admission is $10. And Mega Pass tickets, good for a single day admission and unlimited rides, are $25. Admission is free for children under the age of 10.

 

The 2023 fair ads several new attractions, including a wild west show, a comedy circus/show, a giant talking robot and the Sub-Zero ride that rotates and spins more than 50 feet in the air.
