Meals on Wheels-Anderson held an open out for the senior site in the Pendleton Community Center on Tuesday, which provides a place for senior citizens to gather for a nutritious meal, social and recreational activities, and educational opportunities.

β€œThe Senior Place will be a vital lifeline for seniors in this area to provide nutritional meals and opportunities to socialize that help reduce their feelings of social isolation,” said Laurie Ashley, Executive Director of Meals on Wheels-Anderson.

Meals on Wheels-Anderson currently operates three similar centers in Anderson, Honea Path and West Pelzer as part of a contract with the Appalachian Council of Governments. For more than 40 years Meals on Wheels-Anderson has delivered hope for countless senior and disabled individuals across Anderson County through home delivered meals in addition to other services such as The Senior Place centers, medical transportation, and lawn care.
