A new resource to help those whose lives have been impacted by mental health issues in the works for Anderson, Oconee and Pickens counties.
On Monday, the United Way of Anderson County held a launch meeting for a planned Clubhouse International, a which offers support and empowerment to empower people living with mental illness by focusing on social inclusion, recovery and community.
The meeting was a gather of local community leaders to generate support for a planned clubhouse in the area. The facility will be centrally located to serve all three counties. Planning and fundraising are now under way.
With 350 clubhouses in 32 countries, including one in Greenville, Clubhouse International suggests their model reduces costs and improves chances of recovery.
