Pendleton Outpaces Rest of County in Growth

As the fastest growing area in Anderson County, Pendleton is working to manage the growth to protect what makes the town special.

Pendleton’s efforts to meet the needs for more parking include repairing and expanding sidewalks to encourage the benefits of a walking town. New crosswalks and other. upgrades are also part of this effort to maintain the charm of the county’s oldest township.

Growth along the S.C. 76, which includes more than 650 new housing units, also continues with another new restaurant and new grocery store planned in the months ahead.

Pendleton Mayor, a native of the town, discusses the challenges and benefits of growth in this interview with the Anderson Observer.
