Anderson to Host International Michelin Conference in 2024

The City of Anderson, has been selected as the site for the 4th Conference of the International Network of Michelin Cities (INMC) to be held April 15 -19, 2024. Anderson is first city in the United States selected to host the event, which will include visitors from approximately 25 countries and five continents.
The official announcement of the event is scheduled for 4 p.m. today at the Anderson Arts Center.
The theme of the Anderson conference will be: “Drivers of Economic Development.”
International experts will engage the participants in educational experiences exploring new technologies and methodologies related to the core goals of the INMC which are:
· Transportation of the Future Mobility for All
· Renewable Energy & Green Cities Planning & Citizen Involvement Arts & Culture
· Sports & Health
Anderson Mayor Terence Roberts of Anderson serves on the executive board of INMC and is the Co-President along with Mayor Bianchi of Clermont-Ferrand. Beth Batson of the City of Anderson serves as the City’s Ambassador to the group and is the Director of the 2024 conference.
The INMC was established in 2014 by Mayor Olivier Bianchi of the City of Clermont-Ferrand, France, Michelin’s International headquarters, with the understanding that cities are key places of innovation and invention and are well-positioned to meet the challenges of the future.
The goal of the group is to encourages cooperative reflection and experimentation among local governments, universities, and corporations.
