Roads, Housing Standards Top County March News
Greg Wilson/Anderson Observer
Road, development standards for housing and upcoming Spring events are the top concerns for Anderson County moving into late March.
As the county works to refine and clarify development standards for new housing, including the consideration of hiring a consultant to help with this project, roads remain a top concern.
The proposed referendum for November asking citizens for a one-cent sales tax to provide a consistent source of funding for the county’s 1,550 miles of roads is in the works. A Roads Commission is being formed and will include six members, three from county council, one from the City of Anderson and the other two representing the municipalities in the county.
This news, along with updates on the new detention center, the Anderson Regional Airport Playground, civic center, Kid Venture were among the topics in the March Anderson Observer Interview with Administrator Rusty Burns.
