SCDNR Adds Carp to Fight Weeds in Broadway Lake

On Tuesday, the SC Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) added 450 weed-eating carp to Broadway Lake to address invasive weeds that have been found in the lake. 

The project is a partnership between Anderson County, Friends of Broadway Lake, and SCDNR. SCDNR presented the county with three options to handle the problem. Broadway Lake residents were surveyed and selected the carp. Carp were used several years ago to address another invasive weed at the lake.
