Solicitor Won't Run for Reelection in 2024
Greg Wilson/Anderson Observer
David Wagner, solicitor for the Tenth Judicial Circuit which serves Anderson and Oconee counties since 2016, has announced he will not seek a third term in 2024
“It’s been a very hard decision to make,” said Wagner. “I see it as a commitment of four more years, and I am ready to move on.”
Wagner said at the end of this term, he will have spent 34 years as part of the office, and that as the area grows and things change, the job is getting more challenging with every passing year.
His years of service include time as deputy solicitor in the Tenth District and work in 13th Circuit in Greenville.
Wagner, who will be 61 when his current term ends in January of 2025, said he is not planning to retire, and that he is considering a number of options looking ahead.
He and his wife Melanie Jennings Wagner have three daughters and a son.
Wagner is a graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law and Western Carolina University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.), Biology, and played football.
Story will be updated next week with interview.
